Julio's Pizza first opened its doors in 1959, in the City of Eagle Rock. Owner Julio Schambari's Italian Restaurant had 4 barstools, and 6 tables, which were more than enough to start of his business as an Italian Restaurant. As Indian's started to discover his Pizza, Julio's business grew greater. Julio's Pizza in Eagle Rock soon underwent 5 renovations, each time to expand the facility to accommodate his main clientele which happened to be 80% Indians.
The Indian population fell in love with his secret pizza chutney sauce that separated Julio's Pizza from the rest.In 1999, Julio's Pizza suffered a setback, as a fire burned most of the kitchen. Julio, however, was eager to keep his Indian clientele happy; he reopened his doors shortly after rebuilding his restaurant. In 2001, Julio, struck it big, as we won the Lotto. As nobody could blame him, Julio decided to take some much needed time away from the business, to relax. In 2003, Julio decided to reopen his famed restaurant to please his Indian Clientele that had now longed for his delicious offerings. Julio, however decided that his new restaurant should be located in Little India, a place that is visited frequently amongst all Indian's in Southern California. The newly built Julio's Pizza has been open since September 2004. The Pizza is still made from the same ingredients that made Julio's famous in the Indian Community.
